The EU Council has adopted new rules that aim to improve working conditions for people working with digital labour platforms across the EU. The Platform Work Directive was published in the Official Journal in late November last year and EU member states, including Ireland, will have until 2nd December 2026 to transpose the new rules into domestic law. The EU is the first legislator in the world to propose specific rules for digital labour platforms.
