Webinar: Managing the Grey Areas: Employee Conduct Inside and Outside Work
Date: Thursday, 24th October 2024
Time: 11.00 am – 11.40 am
Location: online via Zoom

We have dedicated the last 10 minutes of the webinar to a Q&A.

The appropriate response to inappropriate Employee conduct both inside and outside the workplace must always be considered in the context of the factual matrix of the case. Criminal matters, social media activity, relationships between colleagues and workplace social events have all thrown up difficult scenarios for Employers to manage. A careful examination of the circumstances, a robust code of conduct together with clearly communicated disciplinary policies and procedures are all vital to minimise the risk of infringing an Employee’s rights to fair procedures and to uphold their good name.

What is this webinar about?

To a great extent, what Employees do outside of work has no impact on their employment. In certain circumstances however, the line between an Employee’s working life and their private life blurs and their conduct, whether inside or outside the workplace can have an impact on their Employer, their colleagues, or their capacity to do their job. Knowing how to manage this grey area and when to take disciplinary action to protect the Organisation is a vital HR skill in the contemporary workplace.

This webinar covers:

  • Codes of Conduct & Policies and Procedures
  • Employee Social Media Posts
  • Criminal Matters
  • Relationships Between Colleagues
