Good Friday – a Bank Holiday but not a Public Holiday

A question many Organisations receive from Employees around Easter time is what their entitlements are on Good Friday?

Although banks and certain Organisations choose to close on Good Friday, it is not one of the ten statutory public holidays and Employees have no statutory entitlements to additional pay or alternative public holiday benefits for working on Good Friday.

And with Easter Monday 1st April being a Public Holiday, we are also taking the opportunity to remind our Linea Members about the associated Employee entitlements.

Linea members can find in depth information on public holidays, together with tools, templates and Case Law by clicking here
